PURPOSE:To obtain one of the two kinds of the title geometrical isomerism compounds having high activity useful as fungicides for agriculture and gordening, by reducing the geometrical isomerism exhibiting its olefin proton in the highen magnetic field of NMP spectrum than that of the corresponding ketones. CONSTITUTION:A geometrical isomerism having its olefin proton in the higher magnetic field of NMR spectrum (heavy chloroform solution) among two geometrical isomerisms of ketone compound shown by the formula II (X is halogen; n is 1 or 2) is reduced to give one of the two geometrical isomerism consisting of the compound shown by the formula I or its salt. The reduction, for example, is carried out by using a reducing agent, e.g., sodium boron hydride, etc. The isomerism has improved properties as a fungicide for agriculture and gardening, for example, having a higher fungicidal action on a wide range of pathogenic fungi of plants. Besides, it has the possibility for use as antifingicides of drugs, herbcides, and plant growth regulators. |
