PROCESS FOR PREPARING SOFT CAPSULE COATED WITH A FILM OF CARNAUFA

摘要

A soft capsule comprises an active ingredient and a shell composed of gelatin and a water-presserving agent, e.g. glycerol or sorbitol. The shell is further coated with a layer of carnauba wax to maintain the water content of the shell at 5-10% level. Thus, soft capsules were prepd. contg. 100mg vitamin E acetate and coated with sieved carnauba wax by sprinkling. The water content of the shell of the soft capsule was 8% and the amt. of the wax-coating film was 0.012%.
