PURPOSE:To elute a jelly component, a water-soluble component, during chewing to show its taste, to show then a taste of a gum base component, a water-insoluble component, by integrating uniformly component particles of the gum base and component particles of the jelly. CONSTITUTION:A gum base component for bubble gum consisting essentially of a vinyl acetate resin having high polymerization degree, polyisobutylene resin, and glycerol ester of rosin is melted under heating, a jelly solution consisting of sugar, thick malt syrup, and a gelatinizing agent as main components are added to it, the melted gum base is blended with the jelly solution with stirring under temperature condition capable of preventing gelation of the jelly solution, and the mixture is shaped and cooled. Consequently, the component particles of the gum base are uniformly integrated with the component particles of the jelly. When the jelly chewing gum is chewed, the jelly component, a water-soluble component, is eluted to show a taste of the jelly first, and a taste of the chewing gum is then exhibited by the gum base component, a water-insoluble component. |
