PURPOSE:To provide an agent for deodorizing a permanent wave lotion containing a mercapto compound as a main agent, by using one or more germanium compounds, antimony compounds or bismuth compounds as a component. CONSTITUTION:A deodorizing agent consisting of one or more germanium compounds, antimony compounds or bismuth compounds (e.g. germanium dioxide, antimony chloride, etc.) is added to a permanent wave lotion containing a mercapto compound as a main agent. The characteristic ill-odor of mercapto compound and the unagreeable smell and after-odor of hydrogen sulfide can be removed easily without lowering the merits of a permanent wave lotion containing a mercapto compound having strong reducing power, e.g. thioglycolic acid, cysteine, etc. as a main agent. Furthermore, the deodorizing agent hardly forms a complex with the mercapto compound, and consequently, the blocking of the thiol group and the lowering of the waveforming capability can be prevented. |
