PURPOSE:A hair tonic composition that contains specific fatty acids such as linolenic acid, thus promoting hair growth and preventing falling-off of hairs, dandruff and itching effectively. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains compounds selected from linolenic acid, parinaric acid, petroselinic acid and palmitoleic acid as well as their salts such as their alkali or organic amine salts in an amount of 0.01- 10wt% based on the total weight of the composition. The above-cited fatty acids or their salts have a strong action of inhibiting testosterone-5alpha-reductase, further controlling microorganism phase on scalps and these actions develop synergism to show strong hair tonic action. When it is applied to scalps, the composition inhibits hair falling-off, activates thinning hairs and increases remarkably hair growth rate. Further, the growth rate markedly increases, even when it is applied to animals. |
