PURPOSE:To control the growth of a primary structure efficiently, by allowing an intermediate product of carbon black in a pyrolysis gas stream generated in a plurality of generating parts to collide with one another with a high density at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:Raw oil atomized from nozzles provided at a plurality of generating parts 1, 1' and combustion air from an inlet tube 4 together with a high- temperature combustion gas from a burner 5 are introduced into a combustion chamber and thermally decomposed to convert them into a gas stream contg. a intermediate product of carbon black. The gas stream is passed through a small- diameter pyrolysis duct to accelerate it and is introduced into the convergent part P of a tubular main reaction zone 2 where the gas stream is made to continuously collide with the retractory member 10 of a base throttle device 9 at an angle of alpha (90-30 deg.) to form a disturbed state with a high density by a Venturi- form throat part 14 provided at the inlet of a narrow part 12. The stream is then recovered from the wide part 13.
