PURPOSE:The titled system by which a specified color area can be securely detected without reducing an effective color area, wherein color-discriminating marks provided in each color area are sequentially detected in accordance with the movement of a color ink medium, and the color of the color area is detected by a logical decision. CONSTITUTION:A mark (m) according to a color area is provided at a corner part of each ink layer, and the presence or absence of the mark (m) is detected by sensors S1, S2. Outputs form the sensors S1, S2 are amplified by amplifiers AMP1, AMP2. The color area of magenta M is electrically detected by taking the logical product of the outputs of the sensors S1, S2, while the color area of yellow Y is electrically detected by taking the logical sum of a negation signal obtained by inverting the output of the sensor S1 by an inverter and the output of the sensors S2, and the color area of cyan C is electrically detected by taking the logical sum of a negation signal obtained by inverting the output of the sensor S2 by an inverter and the output of the sensor S1. |
