PURPOSE:To perform excellent recording and reproducing even on a highly warped optical disk, by installing a detecting means which detects the condition of a light beam irradiated almost verticaly upon the information recording surface of the optical disk by a deflecting means which deflects the optical beam in the direction of the radius of the optical disk. CONSTITUTION:A tracking driving means 13 is driven through a tracking driving circuit 23 by inputting a signal B of a sawtooth-like wave into a signal adding circuit 22 and a movable bodytube 10 is started to turn. At this time, a tracking error signal obtained from a tracking light detector 9a is taken into a microcomputer 25 through an AD converter 24 and the difference in the tracking error signal before and after the movable lens bassel 10 is turned is operated. The value of the signal B is maintained at a level reached when the difference just starts to decrease and the turning of the lens barrel 10 is stopped. When such a constitution is used, the movable lens barrel 10 is held at a location where the lens barrel is turned for an angle theta, and therefore, the light beam is corrected so that it is irradiated upon the disk surface vertically and an excellent tracking condition is obtained. |
