Elastomer composition containing a metal salt as vulcanisation accelerator; in sufficient quantities, metal salts act both as vulcanisation accelerators and promoters of adhesiveness of the rubber to metals, and this makes it unnecessary to use a separate ingredient to fulfil each of these functions; the curing characteristics of the elastomeric compositions containing the metal salts are comparable with those obtained with known accelerators.
