PURPOSE:To attain surely stereoscopic view by designing the device that a display means displaying alternately left and right pictures is observed from a couple of eyepiece members provided at a position corresponding to human eyes through a shutter means shifting the optical path alternately for the left and right part in synchronizing with the period of display. CONSTITUTION:When a stereoscopic video signal is applied to a video input terminal 15, it is discriminated as the stereoscopic video signal by a signal discriminating circuit 19, a signal interrupting circuit 18 is connected, a signal is applied to a television receiver 11 and a picture corresponding to the left and right eyes is displayed alternately on a cathode ray tube screen 12 at each field. On the other hand, the phase of a shutter section 13 is controlled by a shutter phase control circuit 17, and when the right side signal is displayed on the cathode ray tube screen 12, only a part of the shutter section 13 corresponding to the right eye is opened, the part corresponding to the left eye is closed and the picture of the cathode ray tube screen 12 is seen by the right eye only. When the left side signal is displayed on the cathode ray tube screen 12, the right eye side part of the shutter section 13 is opened conversely, the left eye part is opened and the picture is seen by the left eye only. |
