In a device for the connection of the smooth ends of two pipes or pipe mouldings having in each case one annular element, which is fitted onto the pipe ends which are to be connected, and having a connecting sleeve, which encloses the pipe ends with the annular elements, the end surfaces (3b, 4b; 11b, 12b) of the annular elements (3, 4; 11, 12) are located opposite one another on the connecting abutment point, and the outer surfaces (5, 6, 13, 14) of the annular elements are constructed conically, in the same sense, in such a manner that the conical outer surfaces on the one hand supplement one another, when the annular elements rest on their ends on the connecting abutment point, form a complete cone which continues over both outer surfaces, and the connecting sleeve (7, 16) is provided with an inner cone surface which is complementary to this complete cone, and by means of which it encloses and holds the annular elements on its conical outer surfaces. At the same time, a conical multi-start external thread (15) can be incorporated at least into the conical outer surface (14) of the annular element (12) having the larger external diameters, and a conical multi-start internal thread (17), which is complementary to the external thread, can be incorporated in the region of the connecting sleeve (16) which forms an enclosure in the connecting position of this external thread, in such a manner that, after rotation of the connecting sleeve through less than 360 DEG , all the thread starts engage in one another to form a firm mechanical connection. <IMAGE>
