An interlock for a locking mechanism incorporating a linearly movable lock actuating member (LR), the interlock comprises a housing (201) with a slidable control member (206) mounted therein, a slidable plunger (209) mounted in the housing, a bracket (BR) rigidly interconnecting the lock actuating member (LR) and the control member (206) so that lock operating movement of the member (LR) is not possible without movement of the control member (206) and releasable latching means (214) which when operative locates the end (212) of the plunger (209) out of the path of travel of an abutment (207) on the control member (206) to permit linear lock actuating movement of the member (LR). |
