PURPOSE:To reduce the load on a computer body and to attain high speed data base processing by distributing and releasing a data area on a large capacity disc by a disc control device. CONSTITUTION:A CPU1 outputs an information word to a disc block control device 2. The control device 2 inputs the information word to a control part to identify whether the information word is to be distributed or deleted. In case of distribution, the control part 21 loads a map from a disc device 31 to a buffer memory 24 by the system data of the information word, disc type data, unit data and respective data of block number. The control part 21 searches a dead block for an index, a pointer and data in accordance with the block type data and transfers respective block numbers to the CPU1.
