PURPOSE:To obtain an encapsulated toner prevented from oozing of a core material and peeling of outer shells by uniformly coating the core material with a hydrophilic polymer, impregnating the coated material with a polyhydroxyl aromatic compd. and an aldehyde compd. to react them, and then, forming the second outer shells of a hydrophobic poolymer. CONSTITUTION:The particles of a core material contg. PE, a magnetic powder, etc. are dispersed into an aq. soln. of gelatin, gum arabic, or the like, and pH is adjusted to uniformly ppt the gelatin or the like on the surface of each particle. These particles are taken out and dispersed into an aq. soln. of a polyhydroxyl aromatic compd., such as resolcinol, and formalin is added to form the first shells made of a gelatin-gum arabic-resorcinol-formaldehyde resin. These particles are dispersed into an org. soln. of a hydrophobic polymer, such as vinylidene chloride-acrylonitrile copolymer, and water is added to ppt the polymer on the surfaces of the first outer shells and thus form the second outer shells. The toner thus obtained is superior in fixability, durability, etc. |
