PURPOSE:To constitute simply a mechanism moving a lighting light source, a mirror or the like by providing the lighting light source, a solid-state scanning element, an image forming lens and the mirror on a common base and moving the base to read a still original. CONSTITUTION:A common base 17 is fitted with the lighting light source 12, the 1st mirror 13, the 2nd mirror 14, the image forming lens 15 and the solid- state scanning element 16. A caption 18 is a moving mechanism moving the common base 17 in parallel in the sub-scanning direction of an original 11, a torque of a motor 19 freely reversible is delivered to a belt 22 tensed between pulleys 20 and 21 and the base 17 on the belt 22 is moved forward/backward by the total length's share in the subscanning direction of the original 11. Since the relation of mutual position of the lighting light source 12, the mirrors 13, 14, the image forming lens 15 and the solid-state scanning element 16 is unchanged, the original 11 is read and scanned while keeping the optical length to a constant value. |
