PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized device which is capable of degaussing exactly by providing a degaussing magnetic flux generator consisting of a coil wound around a magnetic core, rotating a reel to which a magnetic tape is wound, and varying linearly a relative position relation to the magnetic flux generator. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic flux generator 4 constituted by winding a winding 3 around the center leg of a magnetic core 2 consisting of an E-shaped core is fixed in a vessel 1. A magnetic tape 6 wound around a reel 5 is placed on the magnetic core 2, and in order to degauss the whole of the winding diameter of the tape 6, a reel rotating mechanism 7 and a reel linearly moving mechanism 8 are provided. The mechanism 7 transfers rotation of a motor 9 to a reel removing shaft 13 through gears 10-12, and rotates the reel 5 slowly at a rotating speed of 4-6rpm. The mechanism 8 utilizes a motion of a gear 11, and when it becomes a rotational angle of an extent that the reel 5 is brought to two rotations, a rotating plate 19 is engaged, and the reel 5 is moved linearly through a transmission shaft 17 and a gear 18. In this way, the tape is degaussed exactly, and even if the generator 4 is small, the tape of a large diameter can be degaussed. |
