The relay has a coil former (1) as a base body, the contact arrangement comprising a contact spring (18) which can be operated by the armature, as well as mating contact elements (9, 10) which are arranged in pairs and are attached in a coil flange projection (8) such that they can be plugged in. The mating contact elements (9, 10) are of plate-shaped construction and are attached in grooves (11, 12) which run at right-angles to the coil axis, while respectively associated connecting wires (16, 17) are arranged in connecting grooves (14, 15) of the coil former projection (8), running parallel to the coil axis. Each attachment groove (11, 12) is open towards in each case one connecting groove (14, 15) so that the respective connecting wires (16, 17) can be connected to the mating contact elements (9, 10). In this way, the mating contact elements can be cut off from the supply rolls automatically, and can be attached directly in the coil former, in the same way as the connecting wires. <IMAGE>
