A water-supply arrangement for underground working serves to supply at least one water consumer, in particular a spray device for dust suppression, and to cool machines, in particular three-phase AC motors. In order to substantially reduce the costs for the cooling water and its removal, the water-supply arrangement has the following features: a) a storage tank (3) for the water is provided; b) a connection for a fresh-water feed (4) is provided for the storage tank (3); c) there is at least one motor-operated water pump (9) for transporting the water from the storage tank (3) to the water consumer or water consumers (26) and the cooling system; d) a pressure line (12) starting from the water pump (9) is split up into at least one line section (15) for the water consumer or water consumers, a line section (13) for the cooling and a further line section (14) for the water discharge; e) the line section (13) for the cooling is of closed design and, downstream of the machines to be cooled, extends up to the storage tank (3); f) the line section (14) for the water discharge has a control valve (29) which is controlled by a temperature transducer (27) in such a way that it opens when a certain maximum temperature in the storage tank (3) or in the water feed (8) is reached.
