The position of one or a plurality of light sources is determined by means of a photo-sensitive detection unit comprised of at least one detector body (1) having a plurality of insulated detector elements (for example 5) arranged on top of each other or next to each other and of which the detection surfaces are offset with respect to each other. The light coming from the light sources is reproduced on the detection surfaces by means of an optical reproduction unit comprised of elongated lens elements (2, 3, 4) belonging to the detector elements which are insulated and offset with respect to each other according to the relative shifting of the detection surfaces.
