The invention relates to a telecontrol system with frequency division multiplex transmission of the messages between the transmitter and receiver and is characterised in that a generator is provided at the transmitting end which can be set to m signal frequencies, in that, for the transmission of n binary messages, these m signal frequencies are allocated in each case to a message template comprising the n messages, and in that a receiver is provided at the receiving end by means of which it is established which spectral line has the highest amplitude. Advantageously, only one generator is required and very reliable transmission is possible since in each case only one signal frequency is transmitted (at maximum level) at one time (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
