A cable drum is intended to be improved to the effect that an electrical tool or other apparatus connected to it does not come back into operation inadvertently when the voltage returns after a failure in the supply voltage. This is achieved in that said cable drum is equipped with a zero-voltage or reduced-voltage trip device which automatically interrupts the power supply to the distribution points (plug sockets) when the supply voltage is absent or is inadequate. <IMAGE>
