PURPOSE:To prepare crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite having large crystal size, by the reaction of an aqueous mixture obtained by adding an aromatic nitro compound to a silica source, an alumina source and an alkali metal ion. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic nitro compound such as nitrobenzene is added to an aqueous solution containing an alkali metal ion such as NaOH and an alumina source such as sodium aluminate. A silica source such as silica sol is added to the mixed solution under stirring, and the obtained mixture is made to react by heating at a proper temperature to form crystalline zeolite. The reaction mixture is cooled and the crystallized crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite is separated from the mixture. The zeolite can be utilized in various fields such as catalyst for conversion reaction, carrier for catalyst, adsorbent, etc.
