PURPOSE:To dispense with the setting of a piston ring as well as to make an engine operatable without use of lubricating oil, by installing a ringlike convex part on the outer circumferential part of a piston consisting of a ceramic sintered body. CONSTITUTION:A piston is made of a SiC sintered body, while a ringlike convex part is formed at the side of a head, and the outer circumferential part of this convex part is designed so as to come into contact with the inner circumferential part of a cylinder liner. |
