PURPOSE:To prevent the separation and recombination of water column by providing guides whose lower ends extend from the water level at the lowest water level downwards at intervals on the periphery of the uprising section of an effluent pipe whose tip end is positioned above the water column separation limit of a condenser. CONSTITUTION:When a circulating water pump 13 is driven, water is sent to an effluent pipe 16 through a circulating water pipe 15 provided with a condenser 14. Even when the sea surface 22 is lowered to less than HT, the intermixture of air is limited to a minimum by the action of a guide 20 to avoid bubbling. During the transient drive, when down surge occurs, the water level in the effluent pipe is not lowered to below the tip of the uprising section 18 in the effluent pipe 16 and bubbling caused by the intermixture of air is suppressed to a minimum. Since the water level in the effluent pipe 16 is not lowered to below HT even when down surge occurs, the internal pressure of the condenser 14 is not lowered to less than the vapor pressure and the separation of the water column is prevented. |
