PURPOSE:To ensure the coincidence of phase difference with high accuracy between a luminance signal and a chrominance signal by recording the burst type signal of a high frequency as well as a horizontal synchronism pulse after mixing them in a horizontal blanking period of the luminance and the chrominance signals. CONSTITUTION:When the luminance and chrominance signals Y and C of a color TV signal are recorded on different magnetic tracks, the burst type signals 5 and 6 having sufficiently high frequencies compared with a horizontal synchronism frequency are mixed with horizontal synchronism pulses 1 and 3 in a horizontal blanking period of both signals Y and C and then recorded. In a reproduction mode, the synchronism signals added to a Y signal 16 and an I signal 17 in the signal C are separated from each other by separators 7 and 8 respectively. Then burst signals 5 and 6 are extracted out of separated synchronism signals by burst separators 9 and 10. The pulses of phases of zero cross points of the extracted burst signals are produced by generators 11 and 12. These two phase pulses are compared with each other through a phase comparator 15 for control to obtain phase matching between signals Y and C.
