PURPOSE:To enable a wire electrode to be easily inserted into the guide part of a die without causing any necessity for removing the die or the like forming a wire guide device, by constituting the device such that a notched part for disclosing the wire electrode is provided. CONSTITUTION:A die 3a for use of thin wire forms a wire guide device for guiding a wire electrode 1 to an electric discharge machining part. A guide part 31 directly guiding the wire electrode 1 in this die 3a is mounted to the end of a die neck 32, and a notched part 33, being a route of the electrode 1 and for disclosing this electrode 1, is provided in the die neck 32 being positioned in this side of said guide part 31. Next, after a nozzle 4 is moved upward, the electrode 1 is inserted from an upper part to the notched part 33 in the die neck 32, extracted and disclosed, and then the electrode 1, if it is directly inserted into the guide part 31, can be very easily inserted into the guide part 31. |
