PURPOSE:To eliminate the time required for exchanging roll and to reduce the number of spare rolls, in grinding the rolling rolls, by driving the rolls in a state of mutually kissing state and mutually reciprocating the rolls in their axial directions to frictionally grinding them with the aid of spraying abrasive materials. CONSTITUTION:Work rolls 1, 2 are set to be mutually kissing state, and are mutually reciprocated by a reciprocating device 8 while the rolls 1, 2 are rotated in a mutually press-contacted state. By said friction, the roll surfaces are ground, but the grinding is further improved by spraying abrasive materials on the roll surfaces. Thus the roll exchanging time for mending them by grinding is eliminated and the number of spare rolls are reduced. |
