<p>RD-13709 METHOD FOR REMOVING POLYHALOGENATED HYDROCARBONS FROM NONPOLAR ORGANIC SOLVENT SOLUTIONS A method is provided for reducing the level of polychlorinated aromatic hydrocarbons, "PCB's", while dissolved in an organic solvent, for example, transformer oil. Removal of the polychlorinated aromatic hydrocarbon, can be accomplished by treating the contaminated solution with a mixture of monocapped polyalkyleneglycol alkyl ether and an alkali metal hydroxide.</p> |
