PURPOSE:To realize precise optical-axis alignment by aligning the optical axis of a light emitting body to that of an optical transmission medium by employing a process of detecting the maximum position of the light emission intensity of the light emitting body and a process of moving the optical transmission medium onto the light emitting body on the basis of its detection information. CONSTITUTION:A stem 1 after being assembled is fixed to a jig 20 on a stage 17 and then a voltage is applied to a couple of reeds 5 to turn on the light emitting element 3. The reeds 5 are inserted into a socket 30 and the light emitting element 3 is powered on by a power source 31 to emit light. The light emission part of the light emitting element 3 on the stage 17 is shot by a video camera 18 and an image 29 which submicro precision 29 appears on the screen of a motor television 27. This image 29 is sectioned by level lines of light emission intensity, so the maximum position of the light emission intensity is detected automatically, and the detection information is transmitted to a controller 25 to control a holding mechanism 19; and a cap 8 held at a clamp part 23 is moved to supply and mount the cap 8 to and on the stem 1. |
