PURPOSE:To obtain a printing plate for an electrophotographic photomechanical process superior in printing resistance and suitable also for manufacturing a printed circuit by forming on a conductive substrate a layer contg. a specified hydrazone compd. as an org. photoconductive compd. and an alkali-soluble resin. CONSTITUTION:A printing plate having a photosensitive layer is prepared by coating a conductive substrate of an aluminum plate or the like with a coating liquid contg. an alkaline soln.-soluble resin, such as a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer or novolak resin, and necessary additives, such as sensitizer and solubilizing agent, and a photoconductive compd. represented by the formula (R1 is alkyl or benzyl; R2 is H, 1-3C alkyl or alkoxy or dialkylamino; n is 1-5, and when n is >=2, R2 may be same or different), and drying it. This printing plate is imagewise exposed with a process camera, developed with a soln. of sodium silicate or the like to prepare a printing plate. The printing plate thus obtained does not cause peeling of the photosensitive layer or breakdown of a hydrophilic layer, etc. during printing operation, and it is superior in printing resistance. |
