PURPOSE:To improve the detection accuracy by arranging a magnetic detection body comprising a plurality of magnetic resistance elements, a permanent magnet for biasing the magnetic detection body and a spacer made of a ferromagnetic material interposed therebetween. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic sensor has a permanent magnet 5, a spacer 6 fixed on one end face 5a of the N pole or S pole thereof 5, a magnetic detection body 7 mounted on the end face 6a opposite to the permanent magnet 5 of the spacer 6. The spacer 6 is made of a ferromagnetic material such as ferrite and the section of the end face thereof on the side of the magnetic detection body 7 is formed trapezoidal. With such an arrangement, the magnetic detection body comprising a plurality of magnetic resistance elements can be all biased uniformly thereby enabling a dimensional measurement at a high accuracy. |
