PURPOSE:To detect positioning well only with rotary heads in a recording and reproducing device of a PCM signal by making the frequency of a positioning pilot signal in a recording position, which should be positioned at a reproducing time, different from that in other parts at a recording time. CONSTITUTION:The device is set to the quick traversing or rewinding reproducing mode simultaneously with turning-on of a positioning switch. At this time, a pilot signal P1 or P2 taken out from a tape is supplied to a low pass filter 41 and is extracted and is supplied to a detecting circuit 42, and the change from the signal P1 to the signal P2 having a frequency f2 is detected. Consequently, a detection signal SD of the signal P2 is obtained from this detecting circuit 42 when the position of the signal P2 recorded between musics at a recording time is detected; and if the signal SD has a prescribed level or higher, a detection output signal is led out to an output terminal 44, and the tape is set to the normal reproducing mode from the quick traversing or rewinding mode in the position to be positioned by the output signal. Thus, positioning is performed only with rotary heads. |
