<p>PURPOSE:To generate the first correct output Kanji (Chinese character) string without increasing the number of words in a word dictionary memory neither using a large capacity of connection matrix by determining one of homonyms on a basis of contents of a compressed homonym connection matrix. CONSTITUTION:A dictionary retrieving part 2 retrieves Kana (Japanese syllabary) strings, which coincide with a partial string beginning with the first Kana character of an input Kana string, from a word dictionary memory 3. A word connection discriminating part 4 discriminates whether retrieved Kana strings can be connected to the preceding word or not on a basis of information of parts of speech taken out from the word dictionary memory 3, and various information of Kana strings which can be connected to the preceding word are stored in interpretation candidate buffer 5. A homonym determining part 8 takes out contents of a homonym connection matrix memory 9 on a basis of succeeding word information of the preceding word in the interpretation candidate buffer 5 and reading information of a succeeding word. These contents are compared with homonym numbers in the interpretation candidate buffer 5, and the word for which they coincide with each other is determined as the first output word.</p> |
