PURPOSE:To attain the reproduction of a signal having a short wavelength and a large recording signal level by making the length of confronted cores of a gap part of a ring type magnetic head different from each other. CONSTITUTION:In reproducing recording tracks 11, 12 by the magnetic head 1 having the head gap part G1 different from the lengths L1, L2 of the confronted cores 14 and 15, a flat reproducing frequency characteristic without any trough is obtained. Thus, the restriction of a reproducing signal frequency due to the gap length is removed and the reproduction of a considerably short wavelength recording signal is realized. Further, since a horseshoe-shaped magnetization vector is reproduced, the magnetization moment is increased and the signal having a large reproducing signal level is reproduced regardless of the reproduction of the considerably short wavelength recording signal. |
