This viewer is constituted by three flaps 1, 3, 5 connected together by two hinges 2, 4. An outermost flap 3 carries a lens 13. The other outermost flap 5 possesses a window 14 closed off by a light-diffusing translucent sheet 15. The viewer is supplied flat, and for its use, the hinges 2, 4 are folded so as to place the outermost flaps 3, 5 at right angles with respect to the central flap 1. A slide 19 can then be placed in front of the window 14, by being inserted into slideways 17, 18 and be viewed through the lens 13.
