PURPOSE:To prevent any separation of the active material by shaping a mixture composed of a polyolefin resin, a plasticizer and a filler into a sheet, fixing the sheet to an anode plate before the sheet is solidified and forming minute holes in the sheet to make a separator. CONSTITUTION:A mixture composed of a resin of polyethylene or the like, a silica micropowder and a plasticizer is heated and kneaded and the kneaded mixture is shaped into a sheet by extrusion molding. Prior to the sheet being solidified, the sheet is fixed to the surface of an anode plate made by applying an active material to a core consisting of a conductive porous plate and then drying the active material. After that, minute holes are formed in the sheet by extracting the plasticizer in the sheet with trichloroethylene or the like to form a body consisting of the anode plate and a separator. Since the surface of the active material is firmly fixed to the separator, there is no possibility for the active material to separate from the core during assembly. Consequently, it is possible to reduce the amount of a nonconductive binder or the like used during manufacture of the anode plate. |
