PURPOSE:To limit vehicle speed by changing an air-fuel ratio to the rich side and contrive to protect an engine and to secure operability, by a method wherein a regulator is provided in a passage extended from a fuel tank to a float chamber of a carburetor, and a fuel-supplying pressure is increased when the vehicle speed exceeds a predetermined speed. CONSTITUTION:When the vehcile speed is not higher than a predetermined value and a vehicle switch 10 is OFF, a solenoid coil 11 is in a de-energized condition, and a bypass 8 is communicated with the fuel tank 1. Therefore, even when supercharging pressure is increased and the pressure in a controlling pressure chamber 6b is raised, a portion of the fuel pressurized by a pump 2 is returned into the tank 1 through a pressure-regulating valve 7 of the regulator 6, while the remainder is fed into the float chamber 5 through a fuel-supplying passage 3. On the other hand, when the vehicle speed reaches the predetermined value, the switch 10 is turned ON to energize the solenoid coil 11, so that a valve 9 is closed to shut off the bypass 8. Accordingly, the pressure in a fuel-supplying chamber 6a is raised, and the fuel passed through the regulator 6 flows into the float chamber 5. |
