PURPOSE:To reduce vibration in the foce and rear direction of a vehicle upon starting the running of the vehicle by a method wherein the change of ignition timing is restricted when the opening degree of a throttle valve is opened from the same of idling and the condition of the engine is changed into an accelerating condition. CONSTITUTION:The titled device operates at first a basic ignition timing thetab from a suction air volume Q detected by an airflow meter 2 and an engine revolving speed N detected by a revolving angle sensor 26 to obtain DELTAQ/N, which is the increasing amount of Q/N, in an electronic control unit 31 upon operating the engine. Subsequently, the DELTAQ/N is decided whether it is a value within a predetermined range, and if it is YES, thetaib+DELTAtheta is substituted for the ignition timing theta under a condition that the throttle valve is set at the idling opening degree and an idling switch 29 is put OFF or the engine is under the accelerating condition. (here, thetaib means the basic ignition timing upon idling and DELTAtheta means the stepwise changing amount of the ignition timing under a rounding control). The ignition plug 13 is controlled in accordance with said ignition timing thetaib+DELTAtheta. |
