EXPANSIBLE AND CONTRACTIBLE SHIFT LEVER DEVICE

PURPOSE:To regulate continuously a shaft length with an easy operation by rotating a rotating member through a gear in accordance with the rotation of an adjusting ring to change the engagement proportion of the rotating member to a fixed member. CONSTITUTION:A female screw part 6 is provided on the inside at a tip part of a hollow cylindrical sleeve 2, and a rod 10 as the rotating member whose male screw part 8 is engaged with the female screw part 6 is provided. A knob 24 is engaged with the upper end part of a pipe member 12 where the rod 10 is stored and held. The pipe member 12 and the knob 24 are engaged with each other by the engagement between a male screw part 26 provided on the outside circumferential face of the pipe member 12 and a female screw part 28 formed on the knob 24. An adjusting ring 32 is fitted to the outside circumferential face of the pipe member 12 under the knob 24 so that the ring 32 can be rotated relatively to the pipe member 12 and cannot be moved relatively in the axial direction.
