Distance comparator M3 serving to find, rapidly and without error, the winning bowl, without having to bend down in order to "measure the point" (spot), without touching the bowls or the "target" (jack, small bowl, etc.), assessing only the topographical distances, and unimpeded by obstacles, regardless of the individual sizes, levels and spacings of the two bowls in dispute or of whether the "target" is close or distant, as far as the limit of visibility of the latter. This apparatus has been designed for use in games of bowls such as Pétanque, Provençale, Lyonnaise and other similar games. It is composed: of a double articulated chassis 1 bis (a) and 31, of two uprights 24, of a cylinder 21, of a tube 8 bis (a) with rectangular cross section, of three fixed rods 2 bis (a), 16a and 16b, and of three pairs of small plates 23 (only one of which is in service) which bear the sight eyelets 4 and 4 S. <IMAGE>
