PURPOSE:To obtain a zinc electrode having sufficient cycle life by constructing with a plate sheet mainly composed of zinc and zinc oxide while containing indium compound and metal indium and nickel current collector. CONSTITUTION:A zinc electrode 1 is constructed with a sheet mainly composed of zinc and zinc oxide while containing indium compound and metal indium and a nickel current collector to be adhered with said sheet. Since zinc active substance is covered with indium and hard to contact directly with nickel current collector, gas production from the contact face between said sheet and nickel current collector is suppressed to prevent peeling of zinc active substance from nickel current collector resulting in considerable improvement of cycle life of alkali zinc battery emplpying zinc electrode 1. |
