摘要 |
Uranium is recovered from wet process phoshoric acid by (1) passing the acid soln. through an extractor to obtain uranium-rich solvent and raffinate acid; (2) contacting part of theraffinate acid with elemental iron to produce reduced acid contg. Fe+2; and (3) stripping uranium-rich solvent with the reduced acid in a reductive strippoer system, part of the reduced acid being oxidized to form partially oxidized acid contg. Fe+3. To improve the process, elemental iron powder is added direclty to the stripper system to reduce Fe+3 to Fe+2. Fe+2 utilization is increased to provide a total Fe+2:Fe conversion ratio for the oxidized acid in the stripper system of 1.5-3.0.
