FEED PUMP SUPPORTING STRUCTURE OF FUEL TANK

PURPOSE:To improve soundproofing characteristics and increase the capacity of the tank by a method wherein the outer periphery of the feed pump is covered with a cover made of vibration insulating material and a supporting seat is extended at the lower end of the cover while the pump is held by the part of the cover through a stay secured to the rear surface of a lid. CONSTITUTION:The outer periphery of the feed pump 6 is converted integrally by the cover 20 made of vibration insulating material. The supporting seat 21, projecting downwardly lower than a strainer 9 arranged at the bottom of the feed pump 6 is extended at the lower end of the cover 20. A plurality of supporting seats are formed intermittently and respective seats are utilized as the flow path 22 of fuel. A pair of protuberances 23 are formed integrally at the upper outer periphery of the cover 20 with an interval in up-and-down direction and the stay 4 is retained between the protuberances 23. A clamp piece 25 is connected at the lower end of the stay 4 and opposing flanges 25b at the tip end of the clamp piece 25 are clamped with bolts and nuts 25c. The feed pump 6 is held by the calmp piece 25 from the outer periphery of the cover 20.
