PURPOSE:To facilitate assembling of a fuel injection pump to a vehicle, by connecting a spill ring serving as an injection quantity control member to a governor lever at its side portion or at its lower portion, and thereby reducing the height of the fuel injection pump. CONSTITUTION:A flyweight holder 21 having a gear portion held in mesh with a large gear 24 on a driving shaft 23 is fitted on a governor shaft 22 so that a governor sleeve 27 can be pushed rightward via a thrust washer 26 through the outward displacement of a flyweight 25 in a holder 21 that is caused by the centrifugal force. At the time of starting an engine, a spill ring 4 is moved to a start position by forcing a control lever 1 onto the governor sleeve 27 by a start spring 29 and turning the control lever 1 leftward around pins 16, 17. Further, the control lever 1 and the spill ring 4 are connected together by a connecting member 5 by the side of the driving shaft 23 to reduce the height of a fuel injection pump. |
