A mixing valve has an approximately disc-shaped control member (11) for selectively opening and closing two water inlet openings arranged in one plane. The control member (11) can be both displaced and rotated about a vertical axis via an actuating member (3). The control member controls one water inlet opening with the aid of an outer edge, while the second water inlet opening is controlled with the aid of the inner edge of a recess.
