摘要 In the instrumented notch impact bending test, the transient impact force/time or impact force/distance curves are assessed. The high-frequency interfering vibrations which occur in this process and are superimposed on the impact force/time curves make an evaluation (possibly even an automated one) of the tests difficult and impair the reliability of the values found. A novel hammer blade was designed so that a damping material was also fitted and the geometry of the hammer blade was altered. This makes it possible substantially to eliminate the superimposed interfering vibrations, provided they are produced in the hammer blade itself, and their effect on the impact force/time curve. This makes possible an improved, reproducible and also automatable evaluation of the transient impact force/deformation diagram obtained from an instrumented impact test.
