In a method of producing an electrical tubular radiator, the space between an enclosing tube and a connecting pin coaxial with the latter is filled with magnesium oxide in addition to the heater wire. The enclosing tube is rolled and annealed to compact the insulating material. To prevent the enclosing tube reacting with a plug holding the insulating material during the annealing, it is pinched together at one or both end regions before rolling. The pinched end region is cut off and a space is exposed for fitting the final closure. <IMAGE>
