A belt-retracting device (4) for seat-belts, which is attached to the rear wall (9) of the belt retractor (2), has a cylinder (14) and a piston (15). A pulling rod (18) is attached to the piston (15) and has a bar (8) swivellably mounted on it, which bar engages around the belt (1) which emerges out of the belt retractor (2). For this purpose, the swivel bar (8) lies on the upper edge of the rear wall (9) of the belt retractor (2). When the piston (15) is driven by igniting a pyrotechnic charge (17) in the event of an impact of the vehicle, the belt (1), in the form of a loop which is deflected twice by the swivel bar (8) and the upper edge of the plate (9), is pulled in the tightening direction and locked in the tightened position by means of a locking device (24, 25). <IMAGE>
