PURPOSE:To prevent discoloaration and to enhance witeness by incorporating a silver halide developer in at least one of photographic layers, trating paper with a combination of terephthalaldehyde and sulfurous acid or sulfite to obtain a paper base, and using this base coated with a film forming resin. CONSTITUTION:At least one of silver halide developers is incorporated in at least one of photographic constituent layers. Paper treated with a combination of terephthalaldehyde and sulfurous acid or sulfite is used as a base and it is coated with a film forming resin to obtain the support of the photographic material. As said resin, e.g. PE is used. A silver halide photogrpahic material having such a support and such constituent layers can prevent discoloration due to the mutual action of the resin coated paper and the silver halide developer contained in the layers, and it is superior and high in whiteness. |
