PURPOSE:To measure accurately and in a short time the embrittlement degree and the dfect depth of a zirconium alloy material by identifying the embrittlement and the defect by arranging detecting sensors at right angles and comparing the propagating velocities of pseudo AE waves in both directions. CONSTITUTION:The sensors S0-S4 are attached to a guide cylinder 17 through bellows 15, 16, a pressure is applied to the bellows 15 to bring a seal into contact with a pressure tube 10, next, a pressure is applied to the bellows 16 to bring the sensors S0-S4 into contact with the tube 10. Under this state, water serving as a signal medium is filled among the seal 21, the sensors S0-S4 and the tube 10, and the pseudo AE wave is applied to the sensor S0 by a pulser 7 to measure the propagating velocity. By driving the measuring apparatus to the axis and circumferential directions by a motor provided separately, the defect and embrittlement of the surface of the pressure tube requiring inspection are evaluated. |
